Write a 1200-word essay. Analyze one required reading in terms of “world literature”, placing it in the canon in relation to antecedents (literary precursors and influences) and those texts your chosen text has influenced in later “world literature”. Focus your argument through a concise thesis statement. Make sure you use sufficient primary and secondary sources. Properly employ MLA 9 citation style and formatting—in-text citation with a corresponding Works Cited. Also make sure you use at least four secondary sources, cited in-text and included in your Works Cited.
